I got the error message "Ran out of video memory! Exiting..." while on a 32-bit system. What should I do?

If you have a 32 bit OS, please see the section titled “Potential issues on 32 bit operating systems” below.  Otherwise this issue generally occurs when there just is not enough memory on your video card for the game to run at the settings you have selected.  If your card is above our minimum system specs, then please try dropping your video quality settings lower.

Potential issues on 32 bit operating systems

If you are running a 32 bit OS, it can only address 4GB of memory.  2GB of that is dedicated to the operating system itself.  OMDU often pushes past that allowed 2GB limit and this can cause a crash.  Many other modern games have this issue, and Microsoft has a simple fix for this by letting you set the amount of memory dedicated to an application to 3GB.
For detailed information on how this works, here is the Microsoft link.

Here is a simple set of instructions to do this on your system (these instructions work for Windows Vista and later):
1.    Click on Start
2.    Click “All programs”
3.    Click “Accessories”
4.    Right click on “Command prompt” and then click “Run as Admin”
5.    When the command window comes up type this (without the quotes): “BCDEdit /set increaseuserva 3072”
6.    Press enter to execute this command.
7.    Reboot the computer.
